Their Story
Hadiya Staine and Akeel Williams met at one of the most unlikely places youwould expect to find love—a phonothon! The two worked together in college, raising money for The University of Virginia. After what Akeel refers to as “courting” for quite some time, he proposed to Hadiya on a nature walk. The couple married on June 7, 2008.
